Article marketing is a simple strategy every online marketer knows; there are no secrets no tricks and no magic to this strategy. Maybe there are some services to make it easier or more effective; but the foundation of this marketing strategy will be the same.”

Article marketing is one of the most effective marketing strategies on the internet for 2 reasons:

1.       It can generate good quality of targeted traffic to your website directly. Most of the traffic generated from article marketing are highly educated and serious visitors, who look for certain information and solutions to some problems they nay had. If you have a rich content, with helpful information and some solutions you can easily convert those visitors to costumers.

2.       It will increase your website page rank, and make it indexed high in the search engines results. Most of webmasters use article marketing to build as money back links to their pages as possible.

Some webmasters identify the article marketing strategy as a free effective marketing strategy, but the truth is there is nothing free on the net. You can do it with no money but it require good amount of your time, and we all know time is money.

I hate to approach any marketing strategy as a free or paid strategy; the right approach is the efficiency and the Return On Investment (ROI). For instance the Pay Per Click (PPC) marketing strategy can be the best marketing strategy for some webmasters, when they invest a $2000 on it and earn back $5000 to $10000. But when you invest $100 to $500 on it with no return or even to get only $100 on profits, I don’t consider it effective.

If article marketing take you 12 hours a week, and the results are: no traffic with 10 to 50 back links to your site, it’s not effective; with the 12 hours a week you can do much more than that.

For each marketing strategy there are to rule players, you, which means how you do it, and the tools you use to do it. If you are doing something not effective but still want to do it, you need to change one of that rules or both of them and enhance.

Article marketing is writing articles and distributes them through article directories, blogs, other websites and e-zines.

There are hundreds of information seekers on the net daily, and some of them go to articles directories to seek their information, there they can find webmasters like you writing and sharing their information for free.

There are 2 deferent approaches to article marketing:

1.       You can spend time with no money at all; you can write your article and submit it manually to all article directories and e-zines. This approach will require time and will prevent you from doing other things that could be as or more effective. You need to remember here that article marketing considered as a long term marketing, it will not give you any instant results.

2.       Invest some money in good article marketing distribution service, and spend your time wisely and effectively; don’t waste your money on buying article, it will be the worst investment ever. The goal behind article marketing is to establish your own identity, and prove to online browsers that you are an expert, in your field.

Imagine that you found an article, you liked it and found it informative, you will try to memories the author name, and few days later you found the same article with deferent author name. However if you want to buy article you need to be 100% sure that these articles are Private label Right (PLR) which were written for you only.

Buy articles only if your goal from article marketing is to build and increase your link popularity only, you can rewrite the articles and add your unique touch.

IMPORTANT FACT: most webmasters do not understand the duplication problem, when you submit the same article to deferent WebPages the page with the higher PR will be considered only, so in most cases you will get one back link from the article. However some blogs and websites will add its own content to the page where your article was posted, it’s highly the case when it’s about blogs; in this case it will be considered unique because the content of the page deferent.

Search engines define duplication between the page (the whole page) content. In the article directories and automated process your article will be posted in PHP page, where the extra content from the website will be dynamic (banners, ads or main website info); in this case your article is the whole content of the page.

In this case you need to distribute deferent and unique versions of the same article, you don’t need to rewrite the whole article, but changing the first paragraph with rearranging the paragraphs will be fine (it’s also high recommended to change the title and the last paragraph of the article, and you can use deferent author name).

How to research

The success of article marketing is not only how many links you got from one article, but also how many readers did read your article. You could have a great article but no one will read it; there is a huge deference between what people search for in the search engines, and what people search for in the article directories. To find weather your topic is popular in the article directories you need to make a research in the article directories to see what people want to read.

Go to ezinearticles and see the first article of each topic you are writing about, see at the end of the article, when the article was posted and how many times it was opened. That will give you how many hits this topic could reach per month.

It’s not enough to write and distribute articles, we need people to read our articles and click the links to visit our website and maybe buy from the website.

If you find out that your topics are not so popular in the article directory, you can keep writing about these topics to increase you link popularity; and in the other hand you can research some other popular topics, and try to learn more about and write articles about. And if you want to make some money of these articles you can post some related affiliate links or build a report on some social page, with affiliate products, and redirect your article readers to this pages.

How to write articles.

To be an article writer it does not mean to be a noble writer, you don’t need to use any fancy words and not everything you write need to have the right grammar structure. Just use your own words to explain the idea you want to share.

Every one of us has his own ideas strategies and his own base of knowledge, use your own to give your readers a chance to recognize you and identify your writing.

Most of us are not writing article themselves because of one reason:

They don’t have any idea what to write

Here are some tips that can help you get ideas on what to write:

1.       You need to make a list of topics that you are interested in and you want to learn more about. For example my list started like this: affiliate marketing, affiliate program, success with home based business, starting a home business, internet marketing.

After writing your list, try to organize it by writing the most important topic first.

This list has the topics you want to learn more about, so these topics interest you and you’ll love spending some time reading about those topics.

2.       Now go to your favorite search engines and look for free e-book directory, and search for some e-books about your first topic.

        Download 3 to 5 eBooks and read them, while reading make sure to take notes, when you find any new piece of information write it down, and when you disagree with the writer about something write it down and write your own opinion about it. After finishing each book (free e-book generally are very short with a few if any important information) write a summary about the book, point out what was the new information you have learned.

3.       Go to articles directories like ezinearticle and search for articles on this topic, read as money articles as you can and after reading each article, write a summary if the article was good and informative, or a reply if the article was not so good; writing a reply to an article is like correcting the information, article writers are not better than you and they may not have your knowledge about the topic but they write what they know, and you can correct their information and write better information.

4.       Find some forums about the topic, mostly the first forums showed in the search engines results are the better. Join 2 or 3 forums, and start reading some posts; if there is any post that you feel like replying to it, then reply, but save what you write to your computers. Read more posts and try to share the forum member with your thoughts.

       Active forum members are the best article writers I know, they use a very simple language, short but to the point, and they always have new ideas and strategies about their topic.

          Write down any piece of information you learn, and every post you write.

5.       Go to social pages like squidoo, hubpages, social content, e-how and self growth. Search for your topic and see if anyone have some good informative report. With this pages webmasters write long articles or reports to promote their websites or products; and to do it effectively they usually use high value information, unlike articles were webmasters uses them to build back links. These pages can have better information than free and paid eBooks, every webmaster in these page is trying to impress the reader to encourage them to click the links and see the products they recommend to support their information.

When taking notes of what you read and save everything you write (even a reply on e-mail) you will end up with a very high quality of PLR (Private Label Rights) content. And from only one paragraph of these notes and contents you have, you can write an excellent article. Writing your own article will help you establish your own online identity, readers who will like your writing will search for your name and seek the information you write, and look for your websites and pages.

I know a woman who till now refuses to have her own website, but she had an excellent reputation through her articles and pages she build with squidoo. And for her having an online business is all about the information and your own PLR content that you submit to the internet. She had proved to me that she can make money and high residual income from the internet without having a website; by only writing valuable content.
